Setting up PayPal

A payment gateway is a service provided by e-commerce application providers, facilitating the authorization of credit card payments for various businesses, including online retailers, brick-and-mortar stores, and hybrid models.

This gateway acts as an intermediary, transferring information between a payment portal (e.g., website, mobile app, or interactive voice response service) and the Front End Processor or acquiring bank.

Setup PayPal

To activate the PayPal payment service, you need to set up parameters such as the API Username, API Password, and Signature. Additionally, you can configure a test payment environment by enabling the “Use Sandbox” option.

Upon enabling the service, the system will generate a Payment Gateway record and create an Account head in the chart of accounts, designating the account type as Bank. It will also generate a Payment Gateway Account entry. This Payment Gateway Account serves as a central configuration point where you can specify the account head from the existing chart of accounts and set the default Payment Request email body template.

Once the service is enabled and the Payment Gateway Account is configured, your system will be capable of accepting online payments.
