Auto Creation of Material Request
To avoid running out of stock, you can keep track of an item’s reorder level. When the stock level falls below the reorder level, the purchase manager is alerted and asked to start the purchasing process for that item.
In BizCentric, you can set the reorder level and reorder quantity for items in the Item master. If the same item has different reorder levels, you can also set warehouse-specific reorder levels and quantities.
Along with the reorder level, you can also specify what action should be taken next, such as making a new purchase or transferring from another warehouse. Based on the settings in the Item master, the purpose will also be updated in the Material Request.
When an item’s stock reaches the reorder level, a Material Request is automatically created.
You can enable this feature from:
Stock > Setup > Stock Settings
A new Material Request will be made for each item. Users with the Purchase Manager role will get an email notification about these Material Requests.
If there’s a problem and the Material Request isn’t created automatically, users with the Purchase Manager role will be told about the error message. One of the most encountered error messages is:
An error occurred for certain Items while creating Material Requests based on Re-order level. Date 01-04-2016 not in any Fiscal Year.
One of the reasons of error could be Fiscal Year as well. Click here to learn more about it.
