BizCentric for Service Organization

Question: BizCentric looks primarily designed for the traders and manufacturers. Is BizCentric used by companies offering services?

Answer:

Around 30% of BizCentric‘s customers are service-based companies. These include businesses in software development, certification services, individual consulting, and more. As a service-focused company ourselves, we use BizCentric to manage our sales, accounting, support, and HR tasks.

Master Setup

Setting up a service company is different mainly for items. They don’t keep track of stock for items and so, don’t need warehouses.

To add a service (non-stock) item, uncheck the “Maintain Stock” box in the item master.

When making a Sales Order for services, choose the Order Type as Maintenance. Orders of this type for services require fewer details compared to orders for stock items, like a Delivery Note or item warehouse.

A service company can still include stock items to keep track of their fixed assets, such as computers, furniture, and other office equipment.

Hiding Non-required Features

Since many modules like Manufacturing and Stock will not be required for the services company, you can hide those modules from:

Setup > Permissions > Show/Hide Modules

Modules unchecked here will be hidden from all the User.

Permissions

BizCentric is a system where access is controlled by permissions. Users can only access parts of the system that they have been given permission to. For example, if a user is not assigned a role related to the Stock and Manufacturing module, they won’t be able to see those parts of the system.
