Capacity Planning based on Production Order

The Capacity Planning functionality aids in monitoring production jobs assigned to each workstation.

Follow are the steps to use Capacity Planning Feature in your BizCentric account.

Operations

To add operations, go to:

Manufacturing > Bill of Materials > Operations

Workstation

Add each Workstation in your BizCentric account from:

Manufacturing > Bill of Materials > Workstation

In the Workstation master, you can specify the operations to be conducted on it, associated costs, and the working hours of the workstation.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

In a BOM, with the list of raw material needed, for manufacturing, you can also list operation and workstations through which those raw materials will be processed.

Production Order

On submission of Production Order, Timesheet for Operations. This feature aids in allocating production tasks to each workstation, and it also allows for the updating of the actual time taken for each operation.

Question: Upon Submission of a Production Order, we encounter the following error message.

Answer: Please verify if you have updated the Working Hours in the Workstation master. If not, kindly update it and then attempt to submit the Production Order. Upon submission of the Production Order, Operations (as listed in the BOM) are assigned to the workstation. Each operation should commence and conclude on the same day. If the system encounters difficulty scheduling an operation within a day, it requests you to segment the Project so that smaller operations can be allocated within the day. If you have updated the working hours in the Workstation but still encounter this issue, it may be due to one of your operations taking too long and being unable to be completed in a day. In such cases, please segment that operation into smaller tasks to enable allocation to the Workstation and completion within the same day.
