Everyone appreciates discounts, and coupons providing such discounts are equally appealing. The Coupon code feature is an exciting tool to incentivize customers to make purchases on the e-commerce website.

There are resellers or other websites that generate leads for your BizCentric e-commerce products, items, or services.

1. Prerequisites

1. To enable the Coupon Code feature, enable Show Apply Coupon Code in E Commerce Settings.
2. Create a Pricing Rule having Coupon Code Based flag enabled.

2. How to create Coupon Code

• Go to Coupon Code list and click on New.
• Specify a Coupon Name, for instance, “SAVE 20.”
• Under Coupon Type, select from Promotional or Gift Card.Promotional, is to promote a generic scheme.Gift Card is to randomly generate coupon code and to distribute to specific customer/user.
• Coupon Code is unique read only code in all capital letters, which gets generated based on Coupon Type and Coupon Name.For Coupon Type,a) Promotional , it removes all spaces and takes upto the first 8 characters. e.g. SAVE20

  b) GiftCard ,it generates random code of 11 digits. e.g. AP48K7CT9LP

  It can be used on the shopping cart page before placing the order to avail discount.

• Select Pricing Rule having coupon code-based flag enabled.
• Click on Save

3. Features

3.1 Validity and Usage

1. Valid From – To: Defines the duration of validity for the coupon.
2. Maximum Use: Sets a limit on the usage of the coupon code.
3. Used: Each time a Sales Order is submitted with the coupon code, the “Used” count increases by 1.
4. Coupon Code Description: This description can be utilized when creating an Email Template to inform potential customers about the coupon code and details of the promotion.

3.2 Coupon Code can be applied in two ways

1. Using a URL, the coupon code will be automatically retrieved from the URL parameter (“cc”) and populated in the Apply Coupon Code textbox, simplifying the process for users to apply it.
2. Alternatively, users can manually enter the code and click on the “Apply Coupon Code” button on the shopping cart page.

Upon successful application of the Coupon code, the price will be updated accordingly.
