Tracking the value of stock stored in warehouses is essential.

Each warehouse is associated with a ledger in the chart of accounts via the ‘Account’ field within the warehouse details.

If the ‘Account’ field is left blank for a warehouse, the system defaults to the account specified in the parent warehouse. If the hierarchy does not provide a clear account, the Default Inventory Account specified in the Company record is utilized.

Upon the creation of a company, a ledger titled ‘Stock in Hand’ is automatically generated within the Chart of Accounts, found under Assets > Current Assets > Stock Assets > Stock in Hand.

If necessary, additional ledgers can be created within the ‘Stock Assets’ group.
