In the item master, you might witness values in the following fields to be frozen.

1. Maintain Stock
2. Has Batch No.
3. Has Serial No.

Once a stock ledger entry is created for an item, the values in associated fields become immutable. This measure is implemented to prevent users from altering values, which could result in discrepancies between actual stock levels and those reflected in the system.

In the case of serialized items, where the stock level is determined by the count of available Serial Numbers, converting the item to non-serialized status midway disrupts synchronization, leading to inaccuracies in the reported stock levels. Consequently, the “Has Serial No.” field is also locked.

To regain the ability to edit these fields, all stock transactions pertaining to the item must be deleted. For serialized and batch items, deletion of Serial Numbers and Batch Numbers associated with the item is also necessary.
