Production Planning Report

To access the Production Planning Report, go to:

> Home > Manufacturing > Reports > Production Planning Report

This report assists users in planning both finished goods and raw materials against Sales Orders, Work Orders, or Material Requests (with the request type as Manufactured) data. Particularly in make-to-order scenarios, it aids in production planning for both finished goods and raw materials.

By utilizing this report, users gain insights into the availability of finished goods and required raw materials for the production process. Unavailable finished goods or raw materials are highlighted in red.

The system allocates available stock to orders based on sorting criteria. The ‘Order By’ filter is used to sort orders by Delivery Date or Order Amount.

For instance, consider Bob, who works at a Furniture Manufacturing company following a make-to-order production approach. On Monday, Bob received Sales Orders for tables and chairs from various customers. Bob consulted the production planning report to assess raw material availability and discovered that either tables or chairs could be manufactured with the available raw materials. Bob used the ‘based on’ filter to determine which Finished Good order had an earlier delivery date, finding that he needed to prioritize table production. Consequently, he began working on the tables, while his colleague created a purchase order for raw materials required to make chairs.

With the Production Planning Report, raw materials are automatically allocated to orders once they become available in the respective warehouse.
