Website Item
The details regarding an Item on the website have been relocated to a new document type named “Website Item.” Publishing an item is now streamlined to a single button click. Once a Website Item is created for an item, it is promptly published.
The Prerequisites here are Items.
Publishing an Item
The “Publish in Website” button is displayed for every unpublished item under “Actions.” Clicking this button will generate a Website Item, effectively publishing the item on the website.
If you visit your-site-name/all-products
, you will see the newly created Website Item listed here.
> To view the Website Item page on the website, click on the See on Website link on the top left just above the item image in the Website Item document.
Updating the Website Item
Website Item Page
Once a Website Item has been created, you can update information in it that will be displayed on the website. Here are the fields:
General
- Website Item Name: The title displayed for the Website Item on the website is derived from this field.
- Route: This is automatically generated and indicates the URL where the full-page view of your Item will be accessible.
- Published: To hide or remove your published Item, you can deselect this checkbox.
Display Images
- Website Image: This field is automatically filled with the image from the Item master, although you can also modify it.
- Slideshow: If you include a Slideshow, it will be displayed on the Website Item’s page. If no slideshow is included, it will default to displaying the website image (if available). Image
- Description: This provides alternative text in case the image fails to load.
Stock Information
- Website Warehouse: Choose the warehouse responsible for managing the stock of this Website Item. The availability of the Website Item will be displayed based on the available stock in the selected Warehouse.
- On Backorder: When activated, it will be indicated that the Website Item is available for backorder and is typically not pre-stocked. “Available on Backorder” will be shown instead of “Out of Stock” or “In Stock“.
Note: If the Website Warehouse is not set and ‘Maintain Stock’ is enabled for an Item, the product page will indicate that the Item is ‘Not in Stock’.
Display Information
- Brief Website Description: This text field allows you to provide a concise summary or description for the List View. You can also incorporate HTML here, which will be displayed in the List View.
- Website Description: This rich text editor field enables you to format the description of your website item to enhance its appeal and informativeness. If a Website Description is not specified, the Item Description serves as a fallback.
- Website Specifications: Here, you can detail the specifications of the Website Item, such as weight, manufacturer, dimensions, material, etc. You can also include common specifications from the Item Group to which this Website Item belongs by clicking “Copy From Item Group”. This information will be visible in the Product Details section on the Website Item’s page.
Display Additional Information
The “Product Details” section can be accessed within a tabbed interface, along with other pertinent information. To achieve this:
- Navigate to the “Display Additional Information” section and activate “Add Section with Tabs”.
- You can then populate the “Tabs” table by adding labels and corresponding content for each tab.
- The content field provides an HTML editor where you can incorporate advanced HTML for styling or simply include a paragraph.
- The initial tab will feature “Product Details,” containing the Website Specifications outlined previously (if provided).
- Subsequent tabs from the “Tabs” table will follow suit.
Recommended Items
You have the option to display “Recommended Items” alongside Website Items to encourage users to explore closely related products. This feature can be activated by navigating to E-Commerce Settings > Add-ons > Enable Recommendations.
Once enabled, you can proceed to the Recommended Items section to specify items to recommend alongside a Website Item. These recommendations will then appear on the Website Item Page.
Offers
Coupon Codes can be added at checkout , but customers must know about these codes. For this, Offers can be added to the Website Item for display.
- Go to the Offers section in the Website Item.
- Add a short offer title that is one/two words, in the Offer Title.
- Add a slightly longer subtitle, a sentence in the Offer Subtitle.
- Add lengthy details about the offer in the Offer Description. Save.
Search and SEO
- Ordering: Allocate a ranking to the Website Item to influence its position within the Product Listing. Items with higher rankings will be displayed more prominently.
- Define Meta Tags: Utilize meta tags to enhance SEO performance.
- Website Item Groups: Within this table, you can choose existing or establish new Item Groups to categorize items on your website. The Website Item will appear on the Item Group Pages associated with the Item Groups specified in this table.
Advanced Display Content
You can add an additional styled section using Bootstrap 4 markup for the Website Item page.
Adding Price Details
Prices for Website Items can be established using Item Price. Before setting up an Item Price, ensure that Company, Price List, and Default Customer Group are configured in E-Commerce Settings.
Once these settings are in place, proceed to create an Item Price for the Website Item, selecting the designated Price List from the E-Commerce Settings.
Additionally, you have the option to apply a Pricing Rule with a Discount Percentage or Discount Amount on the existing item price to display struck-through prices.
